Common Questions

Are Your Venues Accessible?

We do our best to make sure our venues are accessible to all and have easy parking and good public transport links. You are also welcome to sit, stand, move around or whatever is best for you during our classes. If you have any special accessibility requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us.

What Sort of Music do you Sing?

Songs from the shows, swing and big band songs, 50's songs, 60s songs, ABBA, 70s songs, silly songs, Christmas music, whatever we enjoy really! We are open to suggestions from members too as to what sort of music they would like to add to our repertoire.

How Much Does it Cost?

Our in-person classes cost the equivalent of just £8 per session, which is billed as a monthly subscription of £30/month (no long-term commitment). For this you get unlimited access to all our in-person classes and all our Zoom sessions - come as often as you like each week with the flexibility to mix and match between sessions as you wish.

Or if you prefer the convenience/safety of singing from home, or you are not near one of our in-person classes, then we offer a Zoom-only membership of just £5/session billed as £20/month (no long-term commitment). Attend as many Zoom sessions as you like each week!

Do I need to be able to read music or be an experienced singer?

No definitely not! All you need to take part is an enjoyment of music. We tailor our choice of music to suit the abilities of the group and we don't perform so there is no pressure to get everything note-perfect. The main emphasis is on having fun, and gaining all the wellbeing benefits of singing. So whether you are a good singer or whether you have been told you can't sing or were thrown out of the school choir,  you are WELCOME at Sing Your Pain Away!

What should I wear or bring?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Loose clothing is normally best to allow free breathing. You might want to bring a bottle of water to sip.
